In this role, you will inspect and test welded joints of ongoing and completed projects, examining for visible defects, accurate dimensions, and joint strength. Using your knowledge of welding principles and metallurgical properties, you will ensure each project aligns with the blueprint, layout, and work order specifications. Whether you’re working in a shop or a construction site, your keen eye will detect flaws such as cracks, cold weld, spatter, and undercuts, ensuring every piece meets our high-quality standards.
As a Welding Inspector, you will not only spot and mark defective pieces but also suggest effective rework strategies. You will be responsible for recording inspection data and analyzing radiographic test films of welded joints. This role demands substantial experience in Welding Inspection and Quality Control, coupled with extensive knowledge of TP tools like Si.ge.ore, WPS, and MDM.
The successful candidate will have:
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering, or a related field
- American Welding Society CWI or CSWIP 3.1 certification
- A minimum of 10 to 15 years’ experience in Welding Inspection and Quality Control
- Proficiency in TP tools: Si.ge.ore, WPS, MDM. Key user knowledge of Jeevan
- A solid understanding of codes such as ANSI B 31.3, 31.4 and 31.8, ASME Section V and IX, API 620 and 650, AWS D1.1
- Previous qualification and certification to a minimum ASNT Level II in Nondestructive Testing (NDT) methods
- Specific certification in VT, MT, PT, RT or UT if required for NDT tasks in the role
